  • Identity verification: driving licence number and vehicle registration for drivers; government-issued ID for all users.
  • Trip data: origin, destination, date/time, passengers, price and route details for trips you post or book.
  • Location data: approximate location when you search for trips or meet a driver/passenger (not tracked continuously).
  • Payment data: we use a third-party payment processor and do not store your card details on our servers.
  • Communications: messages sent between users via the in-app chat.
  • Usage data: app interactions, pages viewed and device/browser information for performance analytics.

2. How we use your data

  • To provide and operate the Ridey platform.
  • To verify your identity and maintain community safety.
  • To process payments and handle refunds.
  • To send you booking confirmations, reminders and service updates.
  • To resolve disputes between users.
  • To improve the app through anonymised analytics.

3. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with:

  • Other Ridey users: your first name, profile picture, rating and vehicle details are visible to matched passengers/drivers.
  • Payment processors: to complete transactions securely.
  • Identity verification providers: to confirm your identity documents.
  • Legal authorities: where required by law or to protect safety.

4. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Trip records are kept for 7 years for legal and tax purposes. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
