Common questions
Is Ridey free to use?
Downloading and browsing Ridey is completely free. Drivers set a fair price per seat to cover fuel costs. Ridey charges a small service fee on completed trips.
How do I pay?
Payments are handled securely in-app. Your payment is only released to the driver once the trip completes, so you're always protected.
Are drivers vetted?
All drivers must verify their identity, driving licence and vehicle before posting trips. You can also see their public ratings and trip history.
What if the driver cancels?
You receive a full refund immediately if a driver cancels. We'll also notify you as soon as possible so you can find an alternative.
Can I offer a return trip?
Yes! You can post both an outbound and a return trip at the same time. Many Ridey regulars do exactly this for their weekly commute.
How is the price set?
Drivers set their own price per seat. Ridey suggests a fair amount based on distance and current fuel costs, but the driver has final say.
