Why we built Ridey
Every day, millions of cars travel the same roads with empty seats — while people stand on platforms waiting for expensive, overcrowded trains. Ridey exists to change that.
We built a simple platform where drivers can offer their spare seats and passengers can find affordable rides to almost anywhere. No medallions, no surge pricing, no corporate middlemen. Just neighbours helping neighbours get where they need to go.
Our community is built on trust and transparency. Every driver and passenger is ID-verified. Every trip is rated. And every conversation happens inside the app so you always know who you're travelling with before you set off.
Ridey works because people trust each other. We invest heavily in safety, verification and reputation systems.
Filling empty seats means fewer cars on the road. Each Ridey trip cuts CO₂ emissions by an average of 38% compared to solo driving.
Drivers offset real costs. Passengers pay less than public transport. We take a small service fee to keep the lights on.
